WWII Scrap Book of Naval Intelligence officer with 3rd Fleet.

This scrap book is unique in my experience in that it seems to have every document relating to the drafting of Kenneth A. Voigt of Multnomah, Oregon into the US Navy, his progression to Naval Intelligence Officer stationed first on the battleship USS New Jersey, and then on USS Missouri, including extremely well-documenting his presence at the Japanese surrender in Tokyo Bay. The album includes a number of extremely rare photos- some possibly unpublished- of the end of the War, the Japanese surrender, Kamikaze attacks on the Fleet, wrecked Japanese warships, and more. Also, Voigt received two letters of commendation for the Luzon Campaign signed by Admiral William “Bull” Halsey, both of which are included, and appear to bear Halsey’s original signature. This is a significant historic document, and belongs in an important WWII collection. Dimensions: The album is large with hundreds of items in it, all original: 15 by 11 inches, and 2 inches thick. Processing and shipping within the continental U.S. $40.00 plus 1.5% replacement cost insurance.

Condition:

The album itself is falling apart, but the contents are very good to excellent. One letter has a tear in it, and a few newspaper clippings are yellowing.Witherell's strives to provide as much information and photographs as possible but encourages in-person inspection by bidders.
