US Model 1884 Springfield Trapdoor Rifle with Ramrod Bayonet

A very fine Model 1884 Trapdoor Rifle with ramrod bayonet, manufactured in October, 1891. The rifle is complete as issued, with a carbine buttplate, but no cleaning rod. The ramrod functions correctly. There is a clear inspector’s stamp in the wood, dated 1891. The serial number is 530660. Dimensions:52 inches long overall, with a 32 inch barrel. Processing and shipping within the continental U.S. $70.00 plus 1.5% replacement cost insurance. 

 

Condition:

Very good plus, with a number of minor marks on the stock. The action is excellent, but the bore is dark. The metal has a dark finish, in part from old, dried grease. The finish on the barrel is brown. There is a very small chip of wood missing from right in front of the trigger guard.
