An excellent Landers, Frary, and Clark US Model 1913 Patton Saber and scabbard, the scabbard having the hollow tent-peg on the drag. This would suggest that the scabbard was from an earlier sword, since no LF& C swords were originally outfitted in the tent peg scabbard. The scabbard is correct for the type, though, the tent peg having been made hollow to allow the scabbard to drain. The sword is marked on the ricasso, “LF&C” with an Ordnance flaming bomb, over “1918.” The reverse side is stamped “US” with an eagle’s head. Dimensions: The blade is 35.375 inches long. The sword in its scabbard is 45 inches long overall, including the peg. Processing and shipping within the continental U.S. $65.00 plus 1.5% replacement cost insurance.
Condition:
About excellent overall, with one small spot of minor roughness on the blade about half way down. The basket guard has some flakes missing from the paint. The grip fit is not perfect.
