Portrait Miniature, Attributed to Nicholas Hilliard (1547-1619)

Framed portrait miniature of Queen Elizabeth, attributed to Nicholas Hilliard (1547-1619). Appears to be unsigned. Accompanied by copy of appraisal by Fred Maxwell (Maxwell Galleries, San Francisco) dated July 7, 1964 attributing the painting to Nicholas Hilliard. Depicts a bust portrait of Queen Elizabeth flanked initials, "Elizabeth Rex". Hilliard was a goldsmith and the official Royal limner, appointed by Queen Elizabeth I.

Dimensions: 2.5"h x 1.87"w; (framed) 11"h x 10"w.

Provenance: Consignor inherited from mother who was an antique dealer in Walla Walla, Washington in 1940's.

Processing and shipping within the continental U.S. $35.00 plus 1.5% replacement cost insurance.
