J.P. Clabrough Double Barreled Under-lever 10 Gauge Shotgun

A very handsome under lever release damascus barreled shotgun, serial number 596, made in 1872. This gun is photo illustrated and discussed in Mr. Shelton’s book on J.P. Clabrough, and is an extremely low serial number example of one of Clabrough’s cartridge shotguns.  The rib between the barrels is engraved, “J.P. Clabrough & Bros. London Laminated Steel.” It is also one of the earliest guns bearing the name with “& Bros.” Mr. Shelton describes it as a “mid-range” gun, but it has beautiful wood, with a straight stock, checkered at wrist and forend, and the steel is handsomely engraved. There is a brass escutcheon plate on the underside of the butt. The forend is key mounted to the barrels. The Damascus pattern is very bold and clear, and is continued onto the rib between the barrels. Dimensions: 48 inches long overall, with 31 inch barrels. Processing and shipping within the continental U.S. $65.00 plus 1.5% replacement cost insurance.
