J.P. Clabrough 12 Gauge Double Barreled Shotgun

A very fine mid-grade Clabrough shotgun, serial number 311, marked on the barrels, “J.P. Clabrough & Bros. Makers. London & Birmingham.” Both lockplates are engraved J.P. Clabrough & Bros. The gun was probably made in 1884, as it is a low hammer, and that is the year they were first produced, and this falls within that serial number range. The gun has elements of high grade decoration, with the lockplates extensively engraved, and the forend and wrist are handsomely checkered. The forend has a horn tip. Dimensions: 46.25 inches long overall. The barrels are 30 inches long. Processing and shipping within the continental U.S. $65.00 plus replacement cost insurance.

Condition:

Overall grey, with some minor wear, and a few minor stains. The action is a little loose. There is a small chip missing from the butt stock right below the right lockplate. There is a crack in the forend, but it is only visible when the forend is removed. The bores are excellent, and the action is tight and crisp. Witherell's strives to provide as much information and photographs as possible but encourages in-person inspection by bidders.
