Handwritten Document written in Latin circa 1453

A handwritten document on rag paper, circa 1453, in Latin, describing the assault on Constantinople by the Ottoman Turks. A very interesting 24 page manuscript, possibility addressed to the city of Venice, describing the siege, armaments, and more of the assault on Constantinople by the Ottoman Turks.  It was translated into Latin from Greek, as chronicled by Kritoboulos, Doukos, and Khalkokondyles. Processing and shipping within the continental U.S. $25.00 plus 1.5% replacement cost insurance.   


Remarkable condition for age. Minor insect holes and foxing. Ink is slightly faded, but still legible. Witherell's strives to provide as much information and photographs as possible but encourages in-person inspection by bidders.
