German Trench Dagger Fighting Knife as used in WWI & WWII

An extremely nice trench knife produced originally for WWI, and with a small Imperial German proof on the ricasso, but possibly re-done for WWII, with beefier ribbed wooden grips, black painted sheath and near mint blade. The ricasso is also maker marked, ERN, WALD RHEIN on one side, and KASSIERMESSER-FABRIK on the other side. The sheath has a leather frog and restraining strap. The blade is similar to the previous, in that it almost looks double edged with a median ridge, but has a strong back to the blade for the first several inches, and then develops into a double edged blade.

Condition: Excellent. The blade retains all of its original polish. The grip was probably replaced for WWII. The sheath is excellent, although the frog shows minor wear.

Size: 11 3/8 inches long overall, with the blade being 5 ¾ inches.

Processing and shipping within the continental U.S. $32.00 plus 1.5% replacement cost insurance.
