First Transcontinental Letter Signed By President Calvin Coolidge
Typed letter dated June 20,1925 to Sacramento Mayor Albert Elkus. Written on White House Stationary signed by President Coolidge being the first transcontinental air letter sent to Mather Field, Sacramento. Together with a typed letter dated June 19, 1925 from the Postmaster Harold McCurry to Mayor Albert Elkus discussing presentation of the Presidential letter. Included in the lot is the original White House envelope addressed with US #C3 stamp and pen notation reading, "Arrived July 1st 1925 first airmail service."

Condition:Overall good condition, envelope shows lighter color in lower right corner where it had slipped behind papers in a frame and not been exposed to light like the rest of the envelope. Please see photos.
