Early oval Daguerreotype of American Officer with Chapeau de bras

A very early image, probably dating from 1835 or so, on an American militia officer in tight, high collared coatee, with his chapeau de bras on a table next to him. There are brass letters on the side of the hat, and he is wearing a sword belt. He has brush epaulettes, and his collar comes to his jaw. The image is oval, and in an open thermos plastic frame. 

Condition: The image is somewhat mirrored, but still quite clear. It may have been lightly cleaned. The frame is excellent.

Size: The image is 2 ½ by 3 ¼ inches. The frame is 4 ¼ by 4 ¾ inches.

Processing and shipping within the continental U.S. $30.00 plus 1.5% replacement cost insurance.
