A superb and excellent condition D.V. Johnstone shotgun. Johnstone was the successor to Clabrough. This gun is serial numbered 7217, and was made in 1902, although it has Damascus twist barrels and is not safe for modern ammunition. It is an outstanding gun, and is typical of Clabrough, as Johnstone guaranteed that he would carry on Clabrough’s high standards. The gun is beautifully balanced, very light and quick. The stock is somewhat unusual for a Clabrough gun, as it has a rounded pistol grip. There is a safety on the barrel tang. The action is handsomely engraved in the Clabrough style. There is a larger shield shaped escutcheon plate on the underside of the butt. The checkering on the pistol grip and on the forend is particularly fine. Dimensions: 46.5 inches long overall, with the barrels being 30 inches. We do not sell post 1898 firearms to California residents unless they have a valid FFL or Relic and Curio license. Excellent, retaining all of the bright case hardening colors on the locks. The barrels are dark colored, with fine Damascus patterns clear on the barrel. The stock is beautiful, and the action is strong and crisp, and the bores are excellent.
