Confederate Brigadier General James Z. George Cabinet Card

A very fine cabinet card photo of Confederate Brigadier General James Z. George of Mississippi, who was a member of Mississippi’s Secession Convention, and served as an officer of the 20th Mississippi Volunteers, then Colonel of the 5th Mississippi Cavalry, eventually being promoted to Brigadier. He was captured twice and was a prisoner of war for two years. He later served in the US Congress from Mississippi. He is pictured in civilian clothes, and the image was made by Bell in Washington, D.C. With research. Dimensions: 4 ¼ by 6 3/8 inches. Processing and shipping within the continental U.S. $30.00 plus 1.5% replacement cost insurance.
