Civil War Cased Tintype of Triple Armed Union 2nd Corps Soldier

A very nice sixth plate tintype of a Union infantryma in sack coat and forage cap, with his bayonetted musket, a cutlery hilted bowie knife in his belt, and a revolver in his hand.  He has a 2nd Corps trefoil on the front of his forage cap. The image is in a leatherette case, with an interesting design on the outside. 

Condition. Very good condition overall. There is a little crackling to the emulsion on the image, but it is extremely sharp and clear. The pad inside the lid is present but loose and rahter worn.  The case is slightly scuffed.

Size: The image is 3 by 3 ¼ inches. The case is 3 ¼ by 3 5/8 inches.

Processing and shipping within the continental U.S. $30.00 plus 1.5% replacement cost insurance.
