California Gold Diggers, Printed 1849

Framed, "The California Gold Diggers / Song and Chorus / as sung by the / Hutchinsons and Barkers". Published by S.W. Marsh & Co., Boston. Entered in the year 1849 in the District Court of Mass. This is one of the earliest published pieces of music related to the Gold Rush, Sacramento and San Francisco, "There's plenty of gold in the world we're told on the banks of the Sacramento. Heigh ho and away we go, Digging up the gold on the Francisco." Dimensions: (sight) 11.5"h x 8.5"w; (overall) 18.75"h x 16"w . Provenance: Purchased from Bill Berger, 2014. Processing and shipping within the continental U.S. $50.00 plus 1.5% replacement cost insurance.
