Barber & Lefever Damascus Double barreled 10 Gauge Shotgun

A very handsome Barber & Lefever Syracuse New York shotgun, serial number 232. It has finely patterned Damascus barrels, and an interesting action. There is an upright lever on the tang that opens the breech when pushed forward. The forend also has an interesting latch that is at the very tip of the forend, and must be pulled to release the forend from the barrels. Stock and forend are checkered. The steel mounts are nicely engraved. The makers are discussed in Mr. Shelton’s book as competitors to Clabrough who were able to grow largely due to protective tariffs put into effect by President McKinley. Dimensions: 46.5 inches long overall, with 30.75 inch barrels. Processing and shipping within the continental U.S. $65.00 plus 1.5% replacement cost insurance.

Condition:

Very good overall, with a nice, crisp action. The bores are very good.
