Ballard Civil War Carbine

This is a Ballard carbine, as manufactured by Merwyn and Bray during the Civil War, probably in .44 caliber rimfire. Serial number 2209. It has no military markings, but was almost certainly purchased for military use. Many were purchased by the state of Kentucky for issue to their Union troops. 38 inches long overall. Processing and shipping within the continental U.S. $55.00 plus 1.5% replacement cost insurance. 

Condition:

Overall smooth grey with an excellent bore.
