19th Century American Painting of "The Glengarry"

Framed 19th century oil on canvas painting depicting "The Glengarry". Appears to be unsigned.

The Glengarry was built in Liverpool by Royden & Sons and launched in 1868. She served on the China tea trade for much of her career and was renowned for her speed and beauty. She participated in a "Steam vs. Sail Race" in 1882, sailing from London to Canton and won by more than a day. She was used in the 1880s to transport immigrants to Australia and also sailed to India a number of times. She was destroyed in a great typhoon in 1892.

Dimensions: 24"h x 36"w; (overall)  30 1/2"h x 42"w. Weight 18 lbs.

Condition:

Coarse craquelure over entire surface. .5" vertical crack upper center. 3.5" vertical zig zag crack upper center left. Few penciled eraser size "smudges" lower edge. Relined. Wear to frame.
