A very fine large cabinet card photo of two young men in plus fours, one in a Norfolk jacket standing with two young women on bicycles. Behind them is a small boy in a Civil War style kepi with a banjo! The bicycles do not appear to have pneumatic tires. The young women are probably sisters.

A larger cabinet card photo of a young couple on a very unusual tandem penny-farthing bicycle. It is identified as being of Frank Olds and his “girl” on Figueroa Street near 21st in 1887.

Dimensions: The larger paper photos are 8 ½ by 5 ½ inches. The tintypes are mostly ninth plate- approximately 2 by 2 ½ inches, and sixteenth plate: 1 5/8 by 2 1/8 inches. The first tintype is sixth plate: 2 ½ by 3 ½ inches. Processing and shipping within the continental U.S. $30.00 plus 1.5% replacement cost insurance. 

 

Condition:

The paper photos are excellent. Two of the tintypes have very minor bends. Several are quite dark. Witherell's strives to provide as much information and photographs as possible but encourages in-person inspection by bidders.
