Wesson Civil War Era Carbine

This is the Frank Wesson manufactured .44 caliber carbine as used in the Civil War. It has two triggers, one of which releases the barrel to tip down for loading. It was purchased extensively by the State of Illinois, as well as the other states and the Confederacy prior to the outbreak of war. This one has serial number 7533, which is war time production. 40" long overall. Processing and shipping within the continental U.S. $55.00 plus 1.5% replacement cost insurance.

Condition:

Overall grey finish with one or two very minor patches of pitting. The sight, although the correct type, has been changed, and there are the remnants of screw holes for a long range sight. Witherells strives to provide as much information and photographs as possible but encourages in-person inspection by bidders.
