Advertises an upcoming sailing for the "Beautiful A1 Clipper Ship Sacramento, Nelson Commander" in the Glidden & Williams Line. Watson printer. Clipper Ship sailing cards became a very popular form of advertising after the discovery of gold in Sacramento in 1848. They were delivered by hand to businesses advertising an upcoming sailing to or from San Francisco. These were unpleasant trips as were the trips overland but people were inspired by the prospect of gold and wealth.
